I, personally, am a big fiction reader and have always enjoyed books set in the middle ages. I especially delighted in the way Bryan Litfin twisted that idea in his first fiction novel The Sword.

This first book in the Chiveis Trilogy is set in a post nuclear, damaged world, where civilization has been forced to assume the old ways of life. The hero and the heroine Teofil (Teo) and Anastasia (Ana) meet in a close to death experience, where Teofil is being charged by a bear. will Teo make it?

After this meeting these two are bound together as they continue to cross paths. Because of this bond, When Anastasia is captured by evil men from the beyond, Teofil feels its his duty to pursue them and save Ana. will she be okay?

This probably doesn’t explain the question you’re wondering and why you’re reading this review. “Is this a good book or not?” and “Should my kids read this?” or if you are a kid(Like me) “Am I old enough to read this?”

To answer the first question, this definitely is a book you won’t want to put down. I myself, before writing this, have just read it for the second time and it still gave me thrills and chills. On the second and third question I give this book a PG13 or (Depending on a parent’s view on how mature there child is) PG rating.

I definitely would recommend this book to all my fellow thirteen year olds and anyone who loves a good book. I’m also fervently awaiting the second books arrival and the day I can review it.
